Congressman Pope,
We’re glad to have you on our side. Your moral courage will not be forgotten.
Abuse and sexual abuse in the military has been ongoing for a long time. I recommend Dr. Mic Hunter’s Honor Betrayed to you and everyone else in our corner. You may be shocked and enlightened.
I personally was told this after reporting a rape:
“Look, we know you are a feminist and a Democrat and if you say anything more about this, you will prove you are just trying to get Petty Officer Blank into trouble.”
That is a Complex Question Fallacy, a Straw man, and a Red Herring rolled into one.
As you know, an argument launched like that puts the victim into another corner. There is no way out of that conversation. That is the reason for launching such a question and it is not uncommon. So, there was continued harassment and another set of rapes for me.
