I support the on-line petition by Change.org demanding tha the VA make regulatory changes in order to change the VA’s broken MST claims process. The current process is cumbersome, burdensome and a real nightmare for MST survivors to navigate. The process needs to change in order to give MST survivors a fair chance at the compensation they deserve!!
This issue is so pervasive that I have counseled children of enlisted parents who would not report sexual assault or abuse committed by other servicemen or sons of servicemen because they said they knew the culture they grew up around would not be supportive.
